The article discusses the MMPI profile of the prisoners of war. The MMPI profiles obtained for this sample of prisoners of war indicated evidence of abnormal personality traits within this group. Secondly, as this sample consisted of socially functioning volunteers, one may assume that in all probability the results represent an underestimate of these effects within the total population. The MMPI configuration of the total sample is a 1-2 configuration that is probably indicative of somatic concern and associated pain. These results are in keeping with the reported and diagnosed physical health of these Ss and may indicate residual effects of the extreme dietary deficiencies endured by this group. |
