Abstrakt: The article examines the relationship between perceived vulnerability to health problems and the repression-sensitization dimension. It is found that sensitizers indicated a greater frequency and/or severity of illness than repressors and that male sensitizers sought medical help significantly more frequently than male repressors. Although these differences may have resulted from actual physiological differences between repressors and sensitizers, it is possible that repressors and sensitizers differ in their health behavior as a result of differences in perceived vulnerability to health problems.
