The article presents a study in which parents of disturbed and adequately adjusted children were administered the MMPI, and the obtained scores were combined by utilizing the generalized distant function and linear discriminant function in order to differentiate maximally the two groups. The classification efficiency of the derived equations were then tested on samples of accepted and rejected adoptive applicants. The methodology employed made it possible to determine the feasibility of utilizing objective psychological tests as part of the basis for selecting foster parents from adoptive applicants. |
