Numerous problems recently raised by women’s complaints against so-called sexual assaults by men, the scandal raised by paedophilia present in so many religious and educational institutions, the widespread re-emergence of prejudice against homosexuality, not to mention the fact that the prostitution market appears more flourishing than ever, it must be recognized that much still remains to be done for a more mature and adequate cultural elaboration concerning the proper character of the sexual dimension in the context of the existential situation common to all human beings. Here we propose some guidelines to guide the reflection on sex as a relational reality with multiple aspects, avoiding the demonization of the same that seems to still exist today in different environments.
