Abstrakt: Studies sets of factors claimed by various investigators to be basic personality variables of the highest factor order. The current controversy as to the levels of factors derived is addressed in the present study, which employed factor analysis in an investigation of the personality dimensions of a population limited to persons who are seeking psychological assistance. The nature of the rating procedure produced a condensation of patient behaviors into the dichotomous data that were analyzed. This procedure was considered to represent a clinical analogue to an analysis of data at the habitual response level in Eysenck's hierarchical organization of behavior.
