Abstrakt: That adjusting excitation flux in the case of permanent-magnet generators is impossible is the reason for special requirements for the external characteristic of these machines under operation in a stand-alone load mode. In this paper, the effect of permanent-magnet temperature and rotor-magnet-system design exerted on the external characteristic is considered. A method for external characteristic calculation with the use of a vector diagram is presented. Recommendations for designing permanent-magnet generators are given. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
