Statistical process control is directly affected by the quality of measurements; therefore, acceptance of a measurement system is a pivotal issue. A gage repeatability and reproducibility study (GR&R) can determine whether the total variability observed in a process comes from manufacturing or from the measurement system. This systematic literature review aims to assess the state-of-the-art in GR&R studies. Based on findings, articles are classified according to the manufacturing process, measuring instruments, quantities and units, design setup, statistical methods, and acceptability criteria. Finally, the main objectives and contributions of each study are highlighted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
