Abstrakt: A literary criticism of the play "The tempest" by William Shakespeare is presented. It highlights about the interpretation of the play as an allegory of British colonialism and slavery in the Americas. It examines strategic prejudicial narratives intended to provide false justifications for European colonialism and transatlantic slavery. It reveals a lack of evidence of Caliban's purported guilt.
