Upper respiratory tract infections are common in clinical practice. Despite their predominantly viral etiology, they are often the reason for prescribing antibiotic therapy. In recent years, there has been an increased demand for complementary and alternative methods (CAM) as a way for more natural and safe treatment. The aim of the article is to review the available literature over the last 20 years regarding the use of CAM for the treatment and prevention of acute upper respiratory tract infections. An analysis of literature sources according to the databases PubMed, Google Scholar, as well as in Bulgarian scientific journals was performed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
