This brief addresses the nonlinear H∞ proportional derivative (PD) observer design problem of one-sided Lipschitz (OSL) singular systems with disturbances. In general, the studied nonlinearity can be regarded as an extension of the traditional Lipschitz restriction and has inherent merits with respect to conservativeness. A novel sufficient condition for the existence of the present observer is given by integrating the concept of quadratic inner-bounded, free-weighting matrix method and OSL condition. For the purpose of observer synthesis, the achieved condition is further converted into the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), by which the gains of H∞ PD observer can be solved simultaneously. Finally, the performance of theoretical results is shown through an application example of DC motor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
