Abstrakt: |
This paper presents an analytical solution for the growth of an ensemble of ellipsoidal particles and shows the difference in growth rate, supersaturation, and nucleation time for ellipsoidal and spherical crystals. The growth rate for an individual crystal evolving in a supersaturated solution is derived in the ellipsoidal reference frame. The kinetic and balance equations for the particle-volume distribution function and system supersaturation are solved analytically using the saddle-point method for a Laplace-type integral.
