Abstrakt: Cow urine, alone or in combination, is applied against insect pests of agricultural and horticultural crops. Mixing of cow urine with extract/decoction of plant parts after soaking, boiling or fermenting in water, proved more effective than spraying of cow urine alone. The crop pests controlled include leaf defoliators and miners, sap sucking insects, fruit flies and borers. Overall, the mixtures could not compete with synthetic pesticides for causing high pest mortality, lowering plant damage and increasing crop yield. How to improve bioefficacy of mixtures for the efficient and economic pest management is a current challenge for promoting the ecofriendly plant protection in organic farming. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
