Abstrakt:	This review examines the results of morphometric studies of the brain in recent years, devoted to the influence of neurodegenerative changes (negative neuroplasticity) on the pathogenesis of major mental diseases: major depressive disorder and schizophrenia. Modern ideas about functional changes in the brain in these diseases are also considered. The relationship between the main groups of psychotropic drugs were analyzed: antidepressants, neuroleptics, and neuroprotectors with the detected morphometric changes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
