Zinc oxide nanorods were synthesized via aqueous chemical growth on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) sheet comprised of long nanotubes threads in entangled network. Prior to the synthesis, the ZnO seed layer was deposited on CNTs sheet for growth patterning localization and to minimize lattice mismatch between the two materials. The ZNR diameter, length, aspect ratio and phase change were investigated depending on synthesis durations. The highest observed aspect ratio is 9.5 for nanorods grown for 9 hours. The longest duration yielded the highest electrical conductivity value induced by the escalating ions transfers for a longer timespan for subsequent deposition on the substrate. The obtained results showed that ZNR growth depends to the function of synthesis time and its electrical conductivity depends on the size and material crystallinity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
