Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on employment and social benefit receipt in Finland.

Abstrakt: In Finland, in 2020, 14% of the working-age population received earnings-related unemployment benefits, 12% received basic unemployment allowances or labour market subsidies, and 10% received social assistance. Second, we analysed the duration of unemployment and social assistance spells: To the end, we used the Kaplan-Meier estimator to estimate the probability of receiving unemployment benefits or social assistance for individuals whose first unemployment or any social assistance spell started between March and May 2020.
