Despite my critique, Jones has honoured her commitment to Uncle, and read as a whole On Taungurung Land Sharing History and Culture offers readers an entryway into the immense knowledge, storying and history-making and indeed politics of history that has informed Taungurung survival since invasion. I attempted a number of times to find my way into the rhythm and knowing of Uncle Roy Patterson and Jennifer Jones's book On Taungurung Land Sharing History and Culture. I wonder if Jones had been able to extend this project, to offer space for more Taungurung voices to share their generational knowledge and experience, if this structural issue and indeed politics of history might have been resolved.
