Abstrakt: This article reveals the imperative requirements of the digital economy for the information and analytical skills of workers and the modern problems of their formation in the framework of higher education. The insufficiently realized potential of the information approach to solving these problems is substantiated in connection with the limitation of its scope by quantitative information theory. The possibilities of the information approach as a means of transforming the content and organization of education in the context of information activities of a student and a teacher are shown.
