Study on forage yield and nutritional value of autumn-sown triticale in eastern area of Gansu Province.

Abstrakt: The experiment was to screen out the fall-sown triticale materials suitable for planting in eastern Gansu, testing the plant height, number of branches, fresh grass yield, and hay of three autumn-sown triticale varieties (C16, C27 and C35) for two consecutive years. Indexes such as output, crude protein content, neutral detergent fiber content, acid detergent fiber content, dry matter digestibility and relative feed value were studied, to screen out varieties with high yield, stable yield and high nutritional value. The results showed that the fresh grass and hay yields of triticale C16 were the highest in different years, with 46.80 and 18.40 t/hm², and the crude protein content of triticale C16 was above 9.76%. The study indicates that triticale C16 has high grass yield and good yield stability, which is the most suitable for large-scale demonstration and promotion in Gansu province. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
