Abstrakt: An engraver, Leontios Russ is known to have made three copperplate engravings in 1818–1819 for the Monastery of Troyan. According to records, he was identified as a monk from the Monastery of Chelandari and a taxidiote monk in Triavna. Two more copperplate engravings commissioned by the Monastery of St John the Hermit of Rila (Kasinets, a demonym of the Kasinata locality), in the vicinity of the city of Vratsa (1822), are also attributed to Leontios along with two undated commissioned by the Monastery of Chiprovtsi, and two, made probably for Mt Athos. Judging by his works, Leontios Russ is defined as an Athonite engraver [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
