The article explores the experiences, knowledge and training needs of Irish primary school teachers relating to mental health issues in schoolchildren. The study surveys teachers' knowledge of symptoms of anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and personality disorder, and of mental healthcare for children. It examines attitude of teachers towards supporting children with mental health issues. |
