Abstrakt: The article presents information various abstract presented at "Second International Congress on MR Mamography," held during September 21-23, 2000 at Jena, Germany. According to a abstract the human observer faced with the task to interpret radiologic images exhibits two distinct shortcomings, the lack of thoroughness and the lack of consistency. Several studies have shown, that both the number of missed lesions as well as the intra- and interobserver variability are high for the interpretation of radiologic images. This is especially of clinical relevance, if the radiologic study is performed for early detection of cancer, where missed lesions may result in an increase of mortality.
