Abstrakt: The recovery susceptibility of a high-temperature WE43 (Mg–Y–Nd–Zr) magnesium alloy is studied. The WE43 alloy aged at 200°C to a peak strengthening is found to exhibit recovery accompanied by softening after short-time heating to slightly higher temperatures (250, 300°C), which is possible during operation.
