Influence of the deformation value during abc-Pressing on martensitic transformation temperatures and crystalline structure parameters in Ti49.8Ni50.2 alloy.

Abstrakt: The change of temperatures of martensitic transformations and parameters of crystal structures in Ti49.8Ni50.2 (at %) alloy samples depending on the value of true deformation (e = 1.84...9.55) during isothermal abc-pressing at temperature 300°C has been studied by in situ X-ray diffraction. It is established that the deformation leads to a slight decrease in the temperature of the beginning of martensitic transformations B2 → B19' and B2 → R but significantly lowers the temperature of the completion of transformations in the final structure B19'. Even the smallest of the introduced deformations leads to a change in the size of the unit cells of all three phases, a multiple increase in the value of micro-strains, and grinding of the coherent scattering regions (CSR) in the crystal lattices of the phases.
