Abstrakt: The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of physical fitness and motor function tests for elderly which were developed by Daito Bunka University Faculty of Sport and Health Science that were selected and developed for the elderly in Hatoyama Town. Seven representative items were selected and the structural and conceptual validity of the seven items was examined by factor analysis from the obtained data at "Kenzyu Sokutei Kai" in Hatoyama Town. The results obtained are as follows; 1) As a result of factor analysis, two factors were extracted, and the first factor was interpreted as "muscle strength evaluation factor including walking ability" and the second factor was interpreted as "adjustment power evaluation factor". 2) All 7 selected items were dispersed into 2 factors, showing a high factor loading. From this result, it can be suggested that the construct validity of the measurement items of this survey, that is to say, the measurement items of physical fitness and motor function for the elderly, is guaranteed from the factor structure. 3) The "TUG test" was mentioned as a measurement item commonly included in the two factors. The purpose of this test is to evaluate "complex movement ability". The fact that this item was included as a high factor loading item for both factors in this analysis also demonstrates the validity of the factor structure. 4) In the "TUG test", a statistically significant correlation was confirmed with all items. In addition, the "two-step test" was not only showed a significant correlation with the item for evaluating muscle strength, but also with an item for evaluating "adjustment force" such as" long-seat body anteflexion" and "one Leg Standing". 5) In the case of elderly people, if they want to formatively evaluate the effect of training, it was suggested that the evaluation of other items could be inferred by measuring the "TUG test" and the "two-step test".
