This work is based on the design of a wind turbine with vertical axis, having the rotor with two stages, each with three straight blades, placed at an angle of 120 degrees between them, the two stages being offset by 60 degrees angles. The solution to construct the blades is of the sandwich type, with a thin sheet (aluminum alloy) coating and the core made of foam. After determining the loads on the blades (forces and moments) for the operating critical structural stress cases, a structural analysis is performed, using the software NX 7.5.3.1.
