Step 1 I transferred the image to the clay panel, using the dots technique: I applied dots to the image in Photoshop, printed the study in real size (on 8x10 sheets) and then used homemade carbon paper to transfer the dots to the board. Demo Materials PAINT QoR watercolors (by Golden): • pyrrole red light • transparent yellow oxide • van Dyke brown Rublev watercolor (by Natural Pigments): • Prussian blue SURFACE • Aquabord clay panel (by Ampersand) BRUSHES • Silver Brush Black Velvet rounds. Step 2 After finishing that driving detail, I began developing the rest of the painting, using pyrrole red light, transparent yellow oxide, van Dyke brown and Prussian blue.
