Abstrakt: This article presents information on a case related to contact sensitivity towards sorbic acid. A 31-year-old housewife had suffered from psoriasis for 13 years. It had been particularly troublesome on her hands and feet. An ointment composed of equal parts of clobetasol propionate 0.5 percent and "Unguentum Merck" was prescribed for these areas. For about 10 months there was a good response to this treatment, but later it was changed to a different steroid ointment due to an apparent erythematous deterioration of the psoriasis of hands and feet as well as the appearance of steroid atrophy on both wrists. About 2 weeks later `Unguentum Merck' alone was applied to the same areas and within 12h there was considerable erythema, soreness and pruritis in them.
