The electrochemical process has many benefits. 0ne of the most widely used electrochemical methods for metal refining is electrowinning. This study aims to reduce lead ions from sulfuric acid solution in the presence of lead sulfate in it. A flexible graphite sheet (FGS) is used as a cathode (9 cm x 5 cm x 2 mm) and the anode is a Pb plate (9 cm x 5 cm x 3 mm). The sulfuric acid solution is an electrolyte solution with various concentrations of 1 N, 3 N, and 5 N, for each concentration variation, 2 g of lead sulfate was added. Apart from variations in the concentration of the electrolyte solution, the current was also varied, namely 12 A, 15 A, and 18 A. 0bservations on the electrodes were carried out for 15 minutes. From this research, the optimum cathode weight gain was obtained at a concentration of 5 N for each current variation. The samples were also analyzed for morphology using the Scanning Electron Morphology- Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
