The present study was designed to record the effect of different chemical insecticides i.e. chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 375 ml ha-1, chlorantraniliprole 0.4 G @ 18 kg ha-1, fipronil 0.4 GR @ 25 kg ha-1 and cartap hydrochloride 4 G @ 25 kg ha-1 chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 5 lit. ha-1, phorate 10 G @ 25 kg ha-1 and carbofuran 3 G @ 33 kg ha-1 against the population of insect predators in sugarcane ecosystem. When the data of both the years were pooled the treatment chlorantraniliprole 0.4 GR @ 18 kg ha-1 was highly safer with maximum mean of 2.65 predators/10 plants. The next safer treatment was chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 375 ml ha-1 with 2.20 predators/10 plants. The other effectual treatments were cartap hydrochloride 4 G @ 25 kg ha-1, fipronil 0.3 GR @ 25 kg ha-1 and carbofuran 3G @ 33 kg ha-1with 2.07, 1.82 and 1.59 predators/ 10 plants, respectively. The treatment phorate 10 G @ 25 kg ha-1 and chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 5 lit. ha-1 were found more toxic with 1.48 and 1.25 predators/10 plants, respectively. The highest mean number of 4.35 predators/10 plants was estimated from untreated control plot. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
