Two simple, accurate, precise analytical methods have been proposed for the determination of Furosemide (Fur) including molecular (UV-VIS) and indirect flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The method is based on Fur and Cr III complex formation in acid medium. Mole ratio of Fur-Cr complex was (2:1) (L: M). An optimal condition of this study has been estimated (7.0, 70°C, 10minutes, 100µg/ml, benzyl alcohol, 4minutes, 2ml) for pH, temperature, time reaction, concentration of metal ion, extraction organic solvent, time and volume of extraction for complex formed in molecular spectrophotometry. The optimum parameters for FAAS showed a similarity to molecular (Uv-VIS) except for chromium (?) ion which was 4µg/ml. The analytical data measured were linearity (10-250 µg/ml), (0.5-6 µg/ml), R (0.9987, 0.9972), D.L (2.271-2.903), (0.157-0.174 µg/ml), Recovery % (97.458 - 97.525), (97.212 - 97.330), RSD % (-2.543--2.475), (-2.788- - 2.670) for tablet and injection formulation in molecular(UV-VIS) and FAAS method respectively.
