Abstrakt: Background: The complex assessment of the radiation situation of the territory of the towns of Aksu, Quartzitka and Zavodskoy located close to a radioactive waste storage Stepnogorsk mining-chemical combine (SMCC). The frequency and spectrum of disease prevalence and metabolic status of the population living in the above-mentioned localities were studied. Purpose: to study the metabolic changes in the population living in the zone of influence of radioactive waste storage with their subsequent drug correction. Methods: For an objective assessment of the radiation situation, comprehensive studies of the settlements - Aksu, Zavodskaya, Quartzitka, located in the Akmola region were carried out. The measurements of ambient equivalent dose rate of gamma radiation (AEDR GR) of the territory of settlements and residential buildings, the measurement of radon concentration in residential buildings were carried out. In order to study the metabolic status of the population of the contaminated territories, a clinical and laboratory study was carried out with the determination of peripheral blood biochemical parameters, with personalized informed consent for laboratory tests and the use of ursodeoxycholic acid drug (ursozim), which was prescribed for corrective purposes. At the end of the period of taking the drug, a comparative analysis of biochemical parameters was perform. Results: High prevalence rates of somatic diseases, as well as significant metabolic changes in people living near the tailing dump of uranium production, were revealed, which may indicate a negative impact of technogenic factors of radiation nature on the health of the population. Conclusion: The use of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) has a pleiotropic effect, effectively reducing the severity of metabolic disorders in people living in the zone of influence of radioactive waste storage facilities.
