Abstrakt: An economic option to be selected in the construction of deep foundation is a pile foundation. The lack of in-situ data and the complexity of the issues caused lagging in the research area of pile foundation. In this study, different types of pile were used under the same geometric conditions to determine the load settlement relationships for various types of sandy soil. The ultimate pile capacity for each pile obtained from the modifications of the California bearing ratio machine. Based on the results, H-pile has a higher ultimate bearing capacity (Qult) for different lengths; 100, 150 and 200 mm as compared with the open-ended and close-ended pile in loose sand. Otherwise, in medium and dense sand, H-pile has a lower value of Qult as compare with the open-ended and close-ended pile. It can be concluded that sand density has a great effect on ultimate load capacity for different types of pile capacity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
