Adsorption and mechanism of proteins on a polymer material of ionic liquid-based gel.

Abstrakt: This paper aimed to prepare a poly-ionic liquid gel material for protein adsorption. The separation experiments of BSA and BHb indicate that when pH is 4, the adsorption capacity of BSA can reach 542 mg·g−1 while the adsorption capacity of BHB is only about 20 mg·g-1. Key adsorption mechanisms were explored including hydrophobic, electrostatic, salt and pH effects. No change of protein structure was found after desorption, which was very beneficial to its further application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
