Abstrakt: The presenting symptoms of women with TOA are similar to those of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), such as acute lower abdominal pain, chills, fever and vaginal discharge (Lareau [8]). The patient suffered from primary infertility, with an abscess diameter of 4.5 cm. Intravenous antibiotic therapy was initially started but following the emergence of rupture signs, surgical intervention was performed. Conclusion Women with untreated reproductive tract infections or tuboovarian abscess are not proper candidates for HSG procedure, due to the risk of pelvic abscess rupture. Tuboovarian abscess (TOA) is an inflammatory mass involving the fallopian tube, ovary, and, occasionally, other adjacent pelvic organs (Granberg and Gjelland [5]) which frequently originates from pelvic inflammatory disease.
