Abstrakt: The article comments on complications of humeral head replacement for proximal humeral fractures. Results after humeral head replacement for the treatment of acute proximal humeral fractures have been mixed. Perioperative complications are the most important factors affecting outcome. The reported prevalence of complications after humeral head replacement for treatment of acute proximal humeral fractures has varied substantially from one series to another. Complications after humeral head replacement for the treatment of proximal humeral fractures include infection, neurological injury, intraoperative fracture, instability, tuberosity malunion and nonunion, rotator cuff tear, component malpositioning, heterotopic ossification, glenoid erosion and stiffness.
