The article offers information on the representation of rural work in Thomas Hardy's novels and the use of these depictions accurately to date the text. It discusses the presentation of unseen paintings of Egdon Heath that Brian Graham has been making during the pandemic, with a well-known watercolour by Hardy himself, depicting this same ‘vague stretch of remoteness. |
