Abstrakt: |
The results of gamma, x-ray, photoluminescence, and heat-treatment investigations of the nature of the luminescence centers of irradiated steatite ceramic SNC are reported. The SNC steatite ceramics are based on the silicate compound MgSiO3 and silicate glass. Analyzing the data on silicate compounds and glasses (quartz, quartz and silicate glasses) and comparing with the data obtained for steatite ceramics SK-1 it was determined that the luminescence of the SNC ceramic is caused by Mn2+ ions. The luminescence intensity reduction at low temperatures is due to the self-trapping of electronic excitations and on n–γ irradiation – the formation of additional structural defects of their complexes.
