We have synthesized a series of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(thiazol-2-yl)acrylonitriles and their alkyl derivatives with a long aliphatic chain. Their photophysical properties were studied in the solid state and suspensions. The aggregation induced emission (AIE) properties of thiazoles were found in an EtOH-water mixture.
