The article presents the results of synthesis and research of physical and chemical properties of asymmetric adipic acid diesters for the production of ester plasticizers. Asymmetric adipates were obtained by two-stage esterification with p−nonylphenoxyethanol and aliphatic alcohols C4 − C10. The target esters were investigated. The results of the analyses showed the possibility of using these compounds as PVC plasticizers by making a composition of polyvinyl chloride and the designed plasticizers. The properties of the mixtures were evaluated using abradability and color stability tests. In particular, the mixtures plasticized with ester 5 had almost identical properties with PVC / diisooctyl phthalate (DOF) mixtures.
