The purpose of this study was to develop a “consultation strategy for physical education” to enhance teacher efficacy in elementary school physical education and to examine its effectiveness. The study comprised 2 parts: study I to develop a scale for measuring teaching efficacy, and study II to examine the effect of the consultation strategy. The following results were obtained: 1) The efficacy of physical education teaching comprises 3 factors and 20 elements. The 3 factors are: basic knowledge practice, active learning promotion, and learning task correspondence. 2) Mid-career female teachers face challenges in terms of teaching efficacy in physical education. 3) The strategy for consultation in physical education suggests it might be possible to enhance physical education teaching efficacy by carrying out consultation in 3 phases: lesson planning, practicing, and reflecting. 4) The physical education consultation strategy suggests it might be possible to enhance teaching efficacy by carrying out the consultation from 4 different aspects. The physical-education-teaching-efficacy-supporting-model-based consultation strategy developed in this research will contribute to guarantee the experience of achieving in teaching physical education, enhance teaching efficacy in physical education, and foster teachers who continue learning regarding teaching physical education.
