The issue of integration of migrants in the European civilizational area (with emphasis on its cultural and value dimension) is currently an extremely complex and sensitive topic. To address this complex phenomenon in the European environment, it is therefore necessary to design an analysis of the presented issues in line with a sociological and religious-value scheme based on four premises: (1) diagnosis of migration processes in the context of growing population movements in Europe, (2) identification of determinants and factors that cause these movements, (3) the identification of the determinants of the successful integration of migrants with a religion other than the religion of the indigenous population, as well as (4) a proposal to address the current situation in the spirit of social teaching of Christian churches. The article is based on available statistics and surveys, across the EU as well as in selected EU countries, which document the changing religious map of Europe and provide initial indicators of the success or failure of the integration of migrant religious minorities. Against the background of the analyzed facts, we present and substantiate the thesis about the irreplaceable role of qualified religious discourse, resp. discourse on the role of religion for the further development and functioning of a multicultural and multi-religious European society.
