In order to investigate the influence of double S plate wheel on rail corrugation, based on the theory that the saturated creep force induces the frictional self-excited vibration of the wheelset-track system and then causes rail corrugation, the finite element models of wheelset-track system of positive and negative double S plate wheels with small curve radius were established by ABAQUS software, and the single S plate wheel was used to validate the model. The complex eigenvalue method was used to study the effects of bending direction, bending degree and thickness of double S plate on rail corrugation. The results show that positive double S plate wheel is a non-corrugated wheel, and the bending degree and plate thickness have no obvious influence on rail corrugation. While negative double S plate wheel tends to cause rail corrugation, and the greater of the bending degree, the more likely it is to cause unstable vibration of the wheelset-track system.
