This study was initiated to assess the antifungal activity of black pepper and clove hot water and alcoholic extracts against Aspergillus spp. associated to sunflower seeds. The inhibition activity of plant extracts against the fungal growth on PDA varied at 1000, 2000 and 3000 mg/L concentrations. Alcoholic extracts scored the highest inhibitory percentages against Aspergillus spp. compared to hot water extracts. Results from stored seeds experiment showed black pepper and clove alcoholic extracts and there combinations were highly protective against sunflower seeds black rot infection.
