Ultrafine CdS/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite: Green synthesis, characterisation and improved opto-electrical properties.

Abstrakt: We use a green synthesis process and a one-step sonication method to produce a novel CdS and CdS/reduced graphene oxide (CdS: rGO) nanocomposite. Nerium oleander leaves extract was employed as capping and reducing agent to produce CdS nanoparticles. The structural, morphological, and optical properties of the samples were investigated using XRD pattern, TEM imaging analysis, UV–Vis spectra, and FTIR. The findings of XRD and SEM show that CdS particles have a cubic structure with a spherical morphology with definite particle size and are well scattered on reduced graphene oxide nanosheets. The impact of combining rGO with CdS nanoparticles on optical and electrical properties was thoroughly discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
