The article explores the interface between Scandinavian musicians and screen media which upsurge of lavish biopics about musicians, marketed as a heightened cinema experience, a combination of film and concert. Topics include biopics of Freddie Mercury and Elton John or, in a Scandinavian context, those of Cornelis Vreeswijk and John Mogensen regarding the optimal relationship between music and story; and scholarly attention to popular music in non-Hollywood films of Scandinavian musicians. |
