The purpose of this paper is to propose an implicit iteration scheme for approximating the common fixed points of two uniformly L-Lipschitzian asymptotically generalized Φ-hemicontractive mappings in the intermediate sense. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the strong convergence of our proposed iteration scheme to the common fixed points of two uniformly L-Lipschitzian asymptotically generalized Φ-hemicontractive mappings in the intermediate sense in Banach spaces. Our new iteration scheme contains several other iteration schemes which have been used by several authors to approximate the fixed points of different classes of mappings.
