One of the most serious problems of mankind at the moment is the environment mercury contamination in connection with uncontrolled handling of systems, devices with mercury filling, as well as the depletion of quality raw materials during oil production and the inclusion in the development of fields enriched with heavy metals, including mercury. Due to the unfavorable environmental situation in the world today, preference should be given to methods of controlling the amount of mercury based on bioindication to minimize the risk of entering the environment of derivatives, salts and other indicator compounds of the toxic metal. To control the amount of mercury in the environment, a laboratory method of bioindication, reproducible under emergency conditions and based on the results of studies of oat germination under conditions of exposure to the toxicant, mercury, has been developed.
