In order to improve the productivity of an integrated casting and rolling facility (ICRF), an electric arc furnace has been upgraded to increase the smelting capacity. The synchronization of the work of steelmaking treatment assemblies has made it necessary to use engineering solutions intended to improve the productivity of a thin-slab CC machine. The analysis of the conditions and capabilities of the equipment of the CC machine and the hot-rolling bar mill of the ICRF has allowed optimizing the mass rate of teeming slabs of increased thickness. The revamping has been proven efficient due to an increase in the productivity of the CC machine and due to the comparison results of the microstructure of the slab billets and finished steel products made according to the conventional and new technology.
