Abstrakt: The article discusses Roger Hart's ‘Ladder of Participation'. Critical perspective on how adults and institutions work with young people and, more importantly, measure the degree of participation and decision-making allowed to children in educational contexts. Hart's ladder is a reflective tool which offers a model through which we can rethink the way we engage with young people, the lower rungs denoting non-participation or tokenism.
