Women are closely involved in food production and security, and yet many have little or no influence on decision making, policy, finance, or strategy pertaining to crops and food. This long and culminative issue for 2021 addresses gender structures and inequalities in many countries throughout the Global South and the ways in which these affect and are affected by development. In response to global food insecurity and climate change, systemic gender inequities urgently need to be addressed to sustainably reduce hunger. [Extracted from the article] |
